At the moment I’m reading A Small Town in Germany by Len Deighton for the 1968 Club which has been organised by Simon at Stuck in a Book and Kaggsy’s Bookish Ramblings. This week came around far too quickly for me, I had intended to read a few books for it, but here are a few that I’ve read previously.
A Cargo of Eagles by Margery Allingham
Consider the Lilies by Iain Crichton Smith
The Public Image by Muriel Spark
Mount Vernon Love Story by Mary Higgins Clark
Garden Open Tomorrow by Beverley Nichols
The Salzburg Connection by Helen MacInnes
It’s an eclectic mix I think you’ll agree. I hope to have A Small Town in Germany finished soon.
That’s a good variety of books. You’ve read a lot more than I have from 1968 – I could only find one that I’d reviewed on my blog before this week!
Helen,
I was surprised that I had read so many from 1968, on the other hand from among all the many books we have in the house I could only find two from that year unread. Cousin Kate – by Heyer which many people seem to be reading and A Little Town in Germany.
I want to read A Small Town in Germany… maybe sometime in 2018. I am eager to see what you think of it. When I checked my blog I was surprised how many 1968 books I found… around 5 and two of them were not mysteries: True Grit and A Wizard of Earthsea.
tracybham,
I’ve also read Wizard of Earthsea, but in pre-blogging days. So far I’m enjoying A Small Town in Germany although it is a bit worrying/depressing that the politics seem to be just as crazy as it is now!
I only managed one.
But then I spotted on the comments someone mention a book I had also read! Quite pleased with myself.
Jo,
This month has come around so quickly, I planned to read several, but it will only be the one now.
