All too quickly we’ve come to the end of 20 Books of Summer and I haven’t quite managed to read all of my chosen books. I did actually read more than twenty books over the summer but I veered away from the list when I felt the need to read a Heyer or vintage crime or some children’s books. I haven’t quite managed to review all that I’ve read from the list, I still have to review In a Dark Wood Wandering and The Berry Scene. I enjoyed most of the books, a few didn’t quite hit the spot but it was a good summer of reading over a time when we were still locked down and not allowed to travel far from home. I’m so glad that I’m a keen reader.

A very interesting and varied list! My summer has been a failure for reading. I only finished 1 book in August – how did I not read more?? Now on to autumn reading!

A lot of people have found it difficult to concentrate on reading during this horrible time. I’ve just been burying my nose in books and gardening to take myself away from it all. I hope the autumn is better for you!

I’m awed by all the books that you did finish and managed to review. Kudos, as far as I’m concerned!
I have yet to read An Old-Fashioned Girl, and have had a devil of a time getting a good copy of it to add to my collection of Alcott titles. But I’m working on it. I have to go back to read your thoughts on Orhan Pamuk’s Snow. My reading has devolved into comfort reads, as I’ve mentioned on my blog. I’ve enjoyed venturing forth in my writing classes, but when it comes to reading, I want to say, “Gimme Shelter.”

Quite a few of those books were really hefty ones so I’m not too disappointed that I didn’t manage to complete them all.
Are you looking for an old hardback copy of An Old-Fashioned Girl or a particular publisher? I needed some comfort reads too which is why I went off piste rather than sticking to the list.
Well done! I always read more than the twenty too but have difficulty sticking to the list. Shinier books appear as if by magic halfway through! But that’s what makes reading fun…

That’s the main thing – being happy with what you’ve done. Some people have been finding it difficult to concentrate on reading at the moment but I couldn’t be without it.
