Pencil Full of Lead by Paolo Nutini

Patrick Kielty played this song on Radio 2 this morning and it never fails to make me smile. It’s so jaunty. Have a listen!

And yes, he is Scottish despite the name, he comes from Paisley.

    • Hi Jessica, Thanks for visiting and commenting. I’ve been lurking at Park Bench via Reader in the Wilderness but haven’t got around to commenting yet!

Nutini – a fine old Scottish name, like Nardini, Casci, Coia, Biagi, Giacopazzi – all beloved ice-cream or fish and chip shop owners. Sadly almost all gone now.

    • Pearl,
So do I. Paulo’s one of the more successful ones in the music business, a generation or two away from the original immigrants. He has a reputation for getting the crowd going.
He seems to be very shy though as he hardly ever shows his face when he’s performing, maybe that’s his Scottish genes coming out!
