Another Birthday!!

To be precise, it’s now 16 minutes past my 52nd birthday as it was on Sunday. I’ve been so busy I couldn’t get around to blogging until now. We celebrated by going out for a meal last week, a joint celebration because Laura and I have our birthdays so close together.

Today we started off by going for a walk around a local park and then the family turned up and as it was Sunday I spent about half of the day in the kitchen, not that I’m complaining because I love having everyone back home again and sitting around the table. So it was just a traditional family Sunday roast dinner, however, I’m now shattered and I’m going to be having a lazy day tomorrow with my feet up and my nose in a book.

I just can’t believe that another year has gone past so quickly, it doesn’t seem possible!

  1. HaPpY BiRtHdAy, KaTrInA! A Sunday roast dinner with your family sounds like the perfect way to celebrate. Enjoy your lazy Monday!

  2. Happy Birthday Katrina!! Hope you are having a lovely family orientated day, I’m sure your dinner turned out just great! But I hope you did not wash up! Enjoy your guilt free book day to yourself tomorrow. It is scary how these birthdays come around quicker, infact everything does!

    • Michelle,
Thanks. Sadly I did have to wash up! I definitely went wrong somewhere. I’m going to have to start doing more exercising to shift the extra pounds I’ve put on. I got loads of chocolates too!

  3. I tried and tried late yesterday afternoon, between 5-6pm to leave you a birthday greeting, but the system failed me. So, today I wish you a wonderful 53rd year. As I think I’ve said before, I think the fifties are truly wonderful years. I’m so glad you had your family with you on “the day,” and I hope you have plenty of fun leisure times ahead.

Do you ever turn on Wimbledon? Ken and I have become huge tennis fans. Do you root for Andy Murray? I would imagine so. Best of luck to him!

    • Judith,
Thanks for the birthday good wishes. I think the great thing about the 50s for me (us) is that life isn’t revolving around other people so much and we’ll soon be able to move elsewhere, to new experiences, instead of having to stay near schools and such. I’m tempted by a wilderness but then I think the winter would be long and hard!
I have Wimbledon on at the moment, Murray will be on later, if the rain stops! We are rooting for Murray, we always have, even at the beginning when he was unpopular. He seemed very dour but I think he was just a typical teenage lad, like our boys. He’s the same age as Duncan. Murray comes from Dunblane (remember the terrible primary school massacre, he was in the school at the time) and it’s just about an hour away from us. We’re keeping our fingers crossed for him!
I think quite a few computer systems have been giving a bit of trouble recently. BTW how did the horse-riding go?

  4. Happy birthday! Your day sounds quite perfect, and I hope the coming year will bring you many more of them!
