St Andrews Botanic Garden (Help save it)

We were in St Andrews on Saturday, and as it’s one of my favourite places I was having a good time until someone asked me if I would sign a petition to try to save the botanic garden. Of course I did, but I hadn’t even realised that it was under threat of closure, it would sicken your happiness!

There is an online petition too, so if you haven’t already signed the ‘paper’ petition, please take the time to sign the online one here. It’s open until the 20th May.

If you’ve never been lucky enough to visit the garden, still sign the petition, so that you WILL be able to visit in the future.

  1. Thanks for the link to the petition. I’m happy to try to help keep the botanic garden open. We didn’t go to St. Andrews when we were in Scotland, but maybe we’ll be back some day!

    • Joan,
I hope you do manage to get back here, you would love the botanics, although not nearly as big as Edinburgh, it’s still a beautiful place with some wonderful trees.

  2. Can I as an American sign the petition? I would like to visit if I ever get to Scotland!

    • Lorraine,
Yes please do sign, I’m sure lots of tourists visit the botanic garden, so hopefully a lot of non Scots will be signing. I hope you will be able to visit in the future. Joan Kyler is an American too.

  3. Hello to Joan Kyler, fellow American. I think you’re getting a contingent of us.I voted and now I have to put my money where my mouth is and GO there.

    • Lorraine,
Thanks for signing the petiton, fingers crossed that when you get here there is still a botanic garden in St Andrews to visit!

  4. Done! Just in time too. Have a lot of catching up to do reading your blog, Katrina. I don’t know where the time goes! Off out again this afternoon to play petanque, but will try to do a catch up tonight! Have to do my own blog too!

    • evee,
Thanks for signing it although I suspect that the uni is determined to build on part of the land at the botanics. I can’t believe that we’re nearly at June already, where is the year going!
