I hadn’t meant to take a break from blogging over the past few days but I ended up just being too busy, I just haven’t been able to do much in the way of blog visiting either but I’m hoping to rectify that tomorrow. I’ve had three dental appointments of course this week, but that is all over with thank goodness and I’m happy with the outcome, I’m taking it easy with creme eggs and the like in the future though.
Otherwise we’ve been house-hunting and we’ve viewed three or is it four houses this week, but not found anything close to being suitable. I can see that finding a new home is going to be more difficult than I had anticipated, but as I keep saying – something will turn up!
Last night we were at one of the local Nepalese restaurants, it was Jack’s retirment meal out with the Chemistry Department, postponed from Christmas of course when he actually retired because everywhere was too busy then. A great time was had by all, I’m wimpish when it comes to spicy food so I had the Chicken Korma, everyone else had much more exotic dishes.
We were the last ones out of the restaurant, in fact I think they were thinking about deploying a man with a large hooked stick to grab us by our necks and haul us out, the staff were obviously keen to get rid of us and get to their beds. We were still having fun though so we made our way to a local pub and stayed until chucking out time, I think that was a first for me and I was so disappointed that they didn’t ring a bell and shout – Time gentlemen, please. They just came to the table and told us to drink up. You can tell that I’ve led a sheltered life, I’m sure!
Looking at houses?? Has something been sold? My computer was hacked and was at the “cleaners” for 5 days. Hope for good news.
Lorraine,
Well we haven’t actually signed anything yet but everyone seems to think it is sold, we won’t believe it till it’s all tied up legally! What a pain about your computer.
In my thoughts and prayers. I know about the anxiety.
Lorraine,
Thanks, all help is gratefully received!
Glad your evening out was so much fun!
Peggy Ann,
And to think that I almost didn’t go!
Believe me, Katrina, from where I sit and have sat several times, finding a house is so much easier than selling one! I will keep every finger and toe crossed for you, and have already told Sasha and Ken to do the same.
No wonder you’ve been too occupied to post. Take your time with us and focus on your present needs.
Nepalese dining! How exquisite. I would love trying that. When I escape to Boston, I order as much Thai and Chinese as I can handle. Northern New York is so staid in its ethnic appetites.
Thinking of you and Jack,
Judith
Judith,
The last time we moved, 26 years ago we ended up homeless as we couldn’t find anything suitable, and we had two babies then so if that happens again at least we only have ourselves to worry about. Prior to that we moved just about every two years so were well used to it. Thanks for crossing everything.
There are two Nepalese restaurants here both called Annapurna, very confusing!
