We were at the Edinburgh Art Fair last month, just before that bridge was closed for repairs, and I didn’t really intend to buy anything, we were just going to have a wee keek at what was on show. But I fell in love with some etchings by Kit Boyd who hand- tints his etchings using inks. Jack said I could have one for my Christmas present, and I couldn’t resist the one below. It’s called Another Golden World. Sorry about the flash.
The artist is Kit Boyd and his artworks are set in a fantasy world. He follows in the British Romantic tradition of Samuel Palmer and the Neo-Romantics of the 1940s.

I like that a lot, Katrina. It’s not so alien that I feel I couldn’t climb over a hill and find myself in that strange landscape. On the Internet today, there were photos of some of the strangest landscapes on Earth. Some of those are much less believable than yours! What a terrific Christmas gift!
Joan,
He is influenced by the landscape around Shropshire and Wales. He told me that he doesn’t like to be restricted and have to think – which way would the light be coming – if he painted a British landscape, sometimes he has two suns in a picture. It’s a good way of getting around a problem I think!
Katrina,
How beautiful, and what a lovely Christmas gift! I can definitely see why you were so taken with it. I’m quite taken with it myself. Beautiful.
Judith
Judith,
Thanks. I hope you’re getting some of the cold snowy weather that you so enjoy now!
Gorgeous! What a great Christmas present đŸ™‚
Stefanie,
I do love it, but I have been saying for years that I don’t need anything at all, but this was something that I just wanted. I do feel a bit guilty about it, but I suppose we supported a living artist!
