Well, I thought I was back, and although we were back from our cruise, almost as soon as I had got the holiday washing hung out I succumbed to a ghastly flu type of bug. That test of whether you have a cold or flu – if it’s a cold you will pick up a £20 note lying on the ground but if it’s flu you will ignore it – means it was definitely flu, as I would have ignored £1,000.
Anyway, after two and a half days of barely being able to lift my head – pain, dizziness and gunge – I’m left with a cough and a hoarse voice which is getting better. I’m just very thankful that I didn’t get ill like that whilst away on the cruise.
So, on with the beginning of the cruise blogposts, very soon.
Poor you – I understand completely! I trust your husband keeps well.
I hope you can hold on to the benefits that must have accrued from your holiday and complete change of scene, and re-live them a little as you look through your photos and mementos.
Give yourself plenty of time to convalesce and recuperate fully.
Best wishes.
Valerie,
Thanks. We are back to rain and chilly weather now, a bit of a shock to the system I think, after the heat of Spain and Portugal. It is just as well we took plenty of photos to remind ourselves of our travels.
Ugh, what a shame. It sounds nasty. And yes, I know exactly what you mean about the difference between colds and flu. I’ve had flu once – never forgotten! Hope you’re starting to feel better now, Katrina. Don’t try to do too much too soon. Recovery takes a while.
Sandra,
That’s only the third time that I’ve had flu, so I count myself as being lucky! I am improving daily.
Oh no! I am glad you are on the mend and hope you are fully recovered soon!
Stefanie,
Thanks. I’m getting better every day, still coughing though.
