I’m going to be joining in with 20 Books of Summer again which is hosted by Cathy at 746 Books. In the past I’ve been quite successful with this one and usually complete the list, for me it’s a good way of concentrating on books that I actually own over June, July and August.

Are you going to be joining in with 20 Books of Summer this year?
There are lots of authors here that are new to me. I read book by Michael Innes years ago and have planned to reread them, but haven’t yet. I have read one Angela Thirkell and hope to read more. I have one by Miss Read but haven’t read it yet. That would have been a good one for my list.
Have fun reading these books and I will learn about the authors when you review them.
tracybham,
I’ve read a lot by Michael Innes in the past but haven’t read any for ages. He’s a bit hit and miss at times I think.
Oh, those are interesting – and a Beverley I’ve not read yet! Happy reading!
kaggsysbookishramblings,
I think the Beverley is a collection of articles he wrote in newspapers or magazines.
That’s an interesting list! The only one I’ve read is Scarweather, but I’ll look forward to hearing about the others.
Helen,
I’ve been meaning to read Scarweather for ages it seems, I usually read those ones as soon as I get them.
Looks like an interersting list! The only one I’ve read is Scarweather, which I really enjoyed. It kept making me think of Tony Robinson and Brian Blessed – I’ll say no more! ? Hope you find lots of enjoyable reads – have fun!
FictionFan,
I’m now very intrigued about Scarweather!
The only books I’ve read from your list are The Shuttle and the two Thirkells, all of which I really enjoyed. The Shuttle is long but I found it a really quick, fascinating read. I do want to read both of those from the British Library Women Writer’s series so I’ll be very interested to see what you think of them!
Karen,
I’ve read the Thirkells before but I’m reading them again in the correct order this time. I’m glad you enjoyed The Shuttle. I was lucky enough to be sent the two British Library books for review so I must get aroud to those ones soon.
Thanks for dropping by.
Karen,
I’ve read the Thirkells before but I’m now reading them all in the correct order. I’ll look forward to reading The Shuttle now as you enjoyed it. I was lucky enough to be sent the two British Library books for review so I must get around to those ones soon. Thanks for dropping by.

I tried to read Monarch of the Glen but failed, I think the tv programme was too much in my mind.
I might have to swap my list and stick and Angela Thirkell on there now I think about it.
Jo,
I only saw wee bits of the TV programme so I might find the book okay. I think the series was very loosely based on the book.
