Kelvingrove organist’s Bowie tribute

The organist at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in Glasgow played Life on Mars today as a tribute to David Bowie and a chap called Gordon Wilson was smart enough to film it on his phone. The organ obviously isn’t the best instrument to play it on, but he makes a good job of it I think. The organ is played every day at the same time, but the last time we were there, when we had Peggy from the US with us, we weren’t lucky enough to hear it.

    • Karen White,
I’m on FB but rarely actually do anything on it. That’s a good idea of yours though, having a personal tribute to Bowie.

  1. That’s awesome! Thanks for sharing it. For whatever reason, I didn’t know David Bowie’s music very well, but this is the first song I thought of when I heard the news.

    • Christy,
I think I was just at the right age when he first got into the charts, and those people stay with you forever. Mind you a lot of school friends were into The Bay City Rollers or The Osmonds at the same time and I had no interest in them at all.
