Peter Pan jigsaw puzzle

Winter is always jigsaw season and one of my bookish Christmas presents was this Peter Pan jigsaw puzzle. It’s a plan of Kensington Gardens and all the things that happen there. I’ve got a thing about Peter Pan but it seems that not many people have actually read the original book.

Peter Pan Jigsaw

At first sight I thought this would be a nightmare to complete. I soon knew it was a nightmare, but you know what those puzzles are like! It fairly grabbed us and we became obsessed with it. With the aid of a magnifier we managed it.

  1. What a beautiful puzzle!

I’ve enjoyed reading Peter Pan several times – an extraordinary book.
I’ve always remembered this haunting sentence, as Mrs Darling dreams of Peter: “He did not alarm her, for she thought that she had seen him before in the faces of many women who have no children”…

    • Valerie,
The whole story and how it came to be written is fascinating to me. I think Barrie was haunted by his beloved big brother who never did get to grow up. It’s sad that it’s just seen as a Disney film now.

  2. I’ve never read Peter Pan, but you’re inspiring me to consider it. I’m currently reading A Wrinkle in Time which is juvenile fantasy/fiction, and I’m loving it. Of course it helps that it’s written by one of my favorite authors, Madeline L’Engle. Your puzzle brings back warm memories of all of ones my kids did when they were growing up. There were years when we had one going all of the time. I wish I could get into doing one myself….

    • Paula,
      I haven’t read A Wrinkle in Time, but I feel that I should – soon. I haven’t read anything by Madeline L’Engle.
I have a love/hate relationship with jigsaw puzzles, they drive me nuts to begin with but I feel such a sense of accomplishment when I complete them.
